If the beautiful island of Barbados is on your radar for the holidays and being in the kitchen is not a part of the package, then I have a food court and two restaurants for you to bear in mind while visiting there.
The food court is inside of Sheraton Mall, which is located in Sargeants Village Christ Church. With over five "deli's" to choose from, you will not be at a loss in deciding what to eat for breakfast. The Mall opens at 9:00 a.m. and along with a relaxing atmosphere the eating area is also spacious.
After spending some time in and around Bridgetown, stepping into the Ideal Restaurant will be satisfying. Located on the top floor of Cave Shepherd, which is located on Broad Street you are in for some reasonably priced and mouth watering dishes. The Ideal Restaurant is fully air conditioned with comfortable seating.
With steam escaping from the dishes, they are served in a "semi" buffet, waiter/waitress assisted style. The Restaurant opens on Monday right through to Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the telephone number is 431-2140.
Tip: The lamb stew is legendary.
When the sun has set and your taste buds are bombarding you, stepping into one of Chefette Barbecue Barn's will be well worth it. They are located in Rockley, Christ Church, opposite the Accra Beach and Warrens, St. Michael, which is next to the Super Centre Warrens Complex.
You are in for an evening of casual dining. Air conditioned, soft lighting, gentle music in the background, along with sumptuous dishes, you cannot loose.
Prices per platter ranges from about $10.00 US, with a variety of dishes to choose from. Platters include chicken, glazed with Bajan herbs, fish, steak and a large variety of vegetables. There is also free refills on soft drinks and juices, on every platter purchased. Barbecue Barn opens from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.. Monday to Sunday and if you decided to call ahead with your order, you can do so at 417-8552 or 430-3402.
Suggestion: Try the chicken platter and the salad bar.
With your breakfast, lunch and dinner taken care of, have an enjoyable, restful and pleasurable holiday in the beautiful island of Barbados.
